Dear Reality launches ExoVerb, an all-new reverb plugin that adds a previously unknown three-dimensional perception of depth and spaciousness to stereo productions.

Combining mixing with the most natural reverb, the plugin delivers fifty realistic acoustic scenes, based on Exoverb’s patented reverb engine with synthesized spatial multi-IRs. By incorporating the fundamentals of spatial listening, this plugin allows for improved control of spatial distance perception, which will clean up the stereo mix, leaving more room for additional instruments. It provides three separate EQs to shape the first reflections, decay, and summed signal. Each three-band EQ includes a low-shelf parametric and a high-shelf filter to get the optimal reverb sound. It also offers three versatile three-band EQs for maximum tonal flexibility.

By default, the plug-in provides a greater sense of depth with natural spatial separation. Using the Depth parameter, the front-to-back spacing of the mix can be further adjusted, thus increasing the perception of depth in stereo mixes.

As already mentioned, the plug-in provides fifty custom-made acoustic scenes in four categories, perfectly tuned for modern music production. All presets are based on multiple synthesized impulse responses, which have been developed with Dear Reality’s proprietary software for a completely immersive audio experience. Achim Fell, co-CEO of Dear Reality, has said that although spatial audio technology enables new possibilities about sound and immersive audio, it is not often considered the fact that, if things are done right, stereo can also produce an immersive sound field with real depth. For this reason, according to Fell, with ExoVerb it is possible to do such a thing because of the implementation of the fundamentals of spatial audio technology developed by DearReality to a first pure stereo reverb plugin.

Dear Reality has always aimed for high ease of that. Therefore, ExoVerb offers a user interface that is easy to understand and use, which, in turn, allows the reverb to be perfectly tailored to the individual mix. It is important to consider, though, that the simplicity of the interface does not equate to having few options. In fact, the operational possibilities are countless. If you need to enlarge the size of the controls, for instance, you can do so, and even if you are going to use the tool on a touchscreen, it will be even easier; as if the sound were something palpable, which you can stretch, shrink, or manipulate like bread dough.

The plug-in also features an innovative triangular pad that helps select the perfect combination of reverb, early reflections on the left side, late reflections on the right side, and dry signals by setting the ratio of early reflections and late reverb on the x-axis and the level of dry and processed signals on the y-axis. Furthermore, ExoVerb provides direct access to commonly used parameters, such as Pre-Delay, Room Size, Decay, and Width, without the user having to dive into the labyrinthine submenus, as is the case with many other reverb tools. If you change the position in the triangle, the plug-in will mark the number of early and late reflections, which will save you a lot of time when mixing.

This plug-in combines the dearVR Mix and dearVR Music Spatializer plug-ins, which optimize stereo audio production to make it more immersive. The dearVR Music plug-in turns any digital audio workstation into a 3D mixing environment. This spatializer plug-in is designed to break down the limitations of saturated stereo mixes. It features eighteen highly realistic virtual acoustic environments for music production, such as a concert hall, a church, a stage, a drum room, and more.

On the other hand, the plugin turns any studio headphone into a stereo mixing room indistinguishable from a professional one, with acoustics designed in detail. This tool features Dear Reality’s headphone spatial compensation — a technology that adapts the nearly fifty most commonly used professional studio headphones to the virtual mixing room of your choice. This allows you to obtain a stable simulation of a flawless acoustic environment.

Dear Reality already has extensive experience in immersive audio, and the company’s proprietary software has only improved over time. This is a sample of what Dear Reality is capable of, and it’s amazing. We may take a long time to assimilate the full potential of this plugin, and, as is often the case, when we are just learning how to use it masterfully, they will surely release a new one to the market.

You can use the plugin for free for fourteen days. You will most likely enjoy it like no other audio mixing tool.
